What Quranic Dashboard is
Quranic Dashboard (لوحة القرآن الكريم) is a free set of tools for studying the Arabic language of the Quran, word by word. It shows the root, dictionary form, part of speech, verb form and grammatical case of every word, and lets you search, count and compare them across the whole Quran.
Why it was built
The project began as a personal study tool while learning Arabic: a way to look up, for any word in a verse, its root and its grammar without leaving the text. It grew from there into a shared resource, so that other learners can see the same structure behind the words they recite, and practise it.
What you can do here
- Dashboard: read any verse and click a word, or a single part of it, to see its root, lemma, part of speech, case and a root diagram.
- Root Search: choose three root letters (جذر) and see every word built from them, grouped by verb form, tense, noun type and case.
- Lemma Search: follow one dictionary word through all its inflections, and combine words with AND, OR, NOT and NEAR.
- Statistics: root frequencies, parts of speech and noun patterns (أوزان) across the Quran.
- Pattern Lab: grammar pattern search, collocations, concordance, verb + preposition, repeated phrases, constructions, person shift (الالتفات), root co-occurrence and word comparison.
- Grammar Games: 16 quizzes on real Quranic words, from verb person and form to إعراب, participles and roots.
Data and method
The grammatical analysis comes from the Quranic Arabic Corpus (morphology version 0.4) by Kais Dukes at the University of Leeds, used under the GNU General Public License. The corpus divides the Quran into 128,218 segments: each word is split into its prefixes, stem and suffixes, and each part is tagged with its root, lemma, part of speech and features such as person, gender, number, case, mood and verb form. The Arabic text is the Uthmani text from Tanzil.
Every count and search on this site is computed directly from that data. Some tools go a step further and apply grammatical rules to the tags, for example to find إضافة or the اسم and خبر of كان; those results are marked on their pages as approximate.
Accuracy and limits
Quranic Dashboard is a study aid. It is not a tafsir, a translation or a source of religious rulings: for meaning and rulings, rely on qualified scholars. The underlying corpus was carefully annotated but can contain errors, and rule-based features can misidentify a construction. If you notice a mistake, please let us know; corrections are very welcome.
